About me
Brenda has followed a creative path all of her life. She has worked in a variety of mediums, including Oil and Acrylic Art on Canvas, Stained Glass, and specialty wall finishes.
She has created the vast body of works you see here since the beginning of 2000 and continues to hone her skills.
Her previous career was in teaching and applying specialty wall finishes in decorative painting and wall murals. Brenda has used her plastering skills in layering mediums to create her Abstract Art, creating pieces contemporary pieces that are full of texture, colour and depth.
With her life-long love of creating, design, color and travelling, she often uses these experiences to capture her landscapes, that takes your imagination around the world. Her Abstract Art is inspired by the love of old European architecture, with their pealing and aged facades.
Her love of still life art and landscape art are another specialty, and working with light and shadow, these pieces add interesting effects that will draw your eye in and guide you on a journey of exploration.

Art and creativity has always been my passion. I love to paint Landscape Art and Still Life Art, not only for the sheer pleasure of creativity, but my intention is to allow you to bring some of the far corners of the world into your home or office space and on your walls. Let my fine art, and transport you to the beautiful places of the world.

Arlene Anderson - Arizona
I have worked with Brenda for over 20 years in various capacities. She turned a vacation home in Arizona into an amazing door treatment still in use, trompe l ‘oeil and custom paint treatments at my two different homes and plaster feature wall(s) with art floral buildouts. She also did a custom feature wall as an homeage to Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass. Very few people are skilled in so many mediums. She can do ‘anything’. Huge respect and admiration for her talent and integrity. A true artisan

Brenda is a talented and versatile artist and excellent instructor. She inspired me to take up acrylic painting and guided me through several painting classes. I have also taken up watercolour painting and really love the pastime, something I wouldn’t have discovered if not for her!

I hired Brenda to paint on an air conditioner wooden box cover I had constructed for me, to keep out the cold air out, in the winter. Brenda painted a beautiful scene which matches the things I love exactly! I am VERY pleased with Brenda for her skill and ability to paint such a beautiful Trompe L Oeil. Wonderful talent and much appreciated

When I read Brenda’s last newsletter, I noticed a great comprehensive explanation of her process in creating her works of art. Using the example of your piece portraying Willie Nelson's Guitar was a very wise choice.
Great job, the detail is amazing and your skill in coordinating colours that compliment and highlight the main focal point of the piece (the Guitar) brings back memories of your decorating skills in your homes, both in Bassano and the one you currently reside in.
Keep up the good work my friend, and I wish you all the success that you deserve in your new studio. I'm certain that LUSSO and the name Brenda Smith will soon be recognized around the world.

Brenda knowing how important this was to me went above and beyond.
With detailed investigations of images of the location, numerous conversations regarding colors, perspective and ‘feel’ of the painting as well as the addition of clever, personal touches. Brenda even came around to my house (as we lived in close proximity) to see where it would be hanging to help me choose the right size of the canvas. She took her time and produced exactly what I was looking for. She even filmed the process which can be seen on her social media.
There is something special about having a piece of artwork produced just for you. It’s a gift that will last a lifetime and beyond. If you have been considering it for yourself, I highly recommend taking that step and reaching out to Brenda today for a coffee to see how she can produce for you what she definitely produced for me = a fantastic piece of deeply meaningful art.

Tintagel and Camelot Castles.
I was introduced to Brenda’s work about 12 months ago through working with one of my clients when I recommended displaying a local artist’s work on her cafe’ & spa walls.
My client chose Brenda and Studio Lusso. When I next visited the space, I saw her work displayed. I was immediately impressed and knew this was a great choice. What I did not expect was that one of her pieces would not only catch my eye and “speak to me”. It was a painting of King Arthur Delphinium and I had to have it! I love all things Arthurian, as my family and friends can attest to. Even my company is called Pendragon Solutions. By wife purchased this painting for my birthday. This was the beginning of my relationship and friendship with Brenda.
