  • Most of my original art work have a deep profile of 1.5” or 1.75”. And even the ones with a more shallow profile, I paint around the edges of all my paintings, to make them a part of the painting. They can easily be hung on your wall without frames and look spectacular.

But, framing is always an option, and here are some things that will help you when you take your painting to be framed.

There are a few things to consider when framing a painting.

FRAMING STYLE: Just because a painting may have a classic look to it, it does not mean you have to frame it with an ornate frame. You may have a contemporary decor, and by framing a classic painting in a contemporary clean-lined frame, this will tie it into your decor. It gives you many more options in choosing a painting you love.

FRAMING COLOR: It is very possible and important to choose a color of frame to tie in with the art piece, as well as your wall color. If you are choosing a black or subtle colored frame (such as a brushed muted silver), you have no worries. Although, with any colored undertones in the frame, you may want to take your wall color chip, as well as the painting, to the framing shop. Choose a framing shop that has experience and good reputation, if you are feeling overwhelmed, and they will help you with your needs.

With the many choices you have in frames, when I leave that choice up to you,
