Consider a Commissioned Art Piece- Part 1
May 24th 2024
Something special, something for you.
When you order a commission from me you get so much more than a painting. You are getting a piece of my passion and desire that I have for creating something special and meaningful for you. Because what you are conveying to me is so close to your heart, I do my very best to pull all the information you are giving to me, into a creative piece of art in that every time you gaze at it, you will remember the story you want me to tell. It could be a place that you have travelled to that brings you joy and incredible memories of your amazing trip. Or maybe it’s a precious gift you want to give to a relative or friend. It could be a cherished childhood memory, or a composition of meaningful objects that belonged to a loved one.
My Process
The initial conversation is a very important first step. One thing that I am competent in, is pulling information out of my clients minds, even if they don’t have a clear vision in what they want. In working with clients in the past when I applied specialty wall finishes and murals, I often times would have to ask specific questions to discover what they were wanting for their interiors, even when they maybe didn’t have a clear vision themselves. I am very proficient at helping them discover their vision.
The Sketch
One thing I have learned over the years of practicing my art, is putting together a good composition. The last commission I did recently, I was provided with a video of a Tuscan landscape where the clients loved to travel. The video I was presented with was on a very grey day, so I was faced with the challenge of changing the lighting from a flat grey day to a vista at sunset that was vibrant and colorful. She also provided me with a photo with fall colours that she was wanting as well as an Italian villa and driveway adorned with typical Italian cypress trees that you often see in Tuscany.
Progression
As I am painting, I often do videos and take progress photos when I love to share with my clients along the way, unless they choose to keep the whole thing a surprise.
Commissions are very meaningful and precious for my clients, and the process is very in-depth for me as an experienced artist.

Brenda knowing how important this was to me went above and beyond.
With detailed investigations of images of the location, numerous conversations regarding colors, perspective and ‘feel’ of the painting as well as the addition of clever, personal touches. Brenda even came around to my house (as we lived in close proximity) to see where it would be hanging to help me choose the right size of the canvas. She took her time and produced exactly what I was looking for. She even filmed the process which can be seen on her social media.
There is something special about having a piece of artwork produced just for you. It’s a gift that will last a lifetime and beyond. If you have been considering it for yourself, I highly recommend taking that step and reaching out to Brenda today for a coffee to see how she can produce for you what she definitely produced for me = a fantastic piece of deeply meaningful art.
