Solorzano Spa

A hidden gem in plain sight.

I have had the opportunity to have my art displayed in Solorzano Spa for a few years now.   This is a beautiful historic home in Red Deer. I have always admired old architecture, as it has so much character and history. When the spa owner, Ana, was looking for an artist to be featured in her spa, I heard about it and contacted her. Initially I had a few pieces in her main living room, and it wasn’t long before we filled the whole space with my works. It is a blessing to know someone who is so appreciative of the arts.

She is currently part of Red Deer’s First Fridays, which is a really cool program that offers the public to tour any art gallery that is a part of the Red Deer Arts Council gallery tour. These tours happen the first Friday of each month. Ana also features other local artists in other treatment rooms at her spa.

This beautiful historic home, owned by Ana Solorzano, offers Tranquil Spa Services, Cafe and Wine Bar, Event Bookings, European Patio with summer entertainment and local artist displays.  Ana Solorzano is a kind and a very ambitious lovely woman.   I feel blessed to know her and here is her story.

Ana has been in the beauty industry for 14 years.  After working in a local salon, she fell in love with the aesthetic industry.  She started taking courses, first in artificial nails, then enrolled and graduated from the Medi Aesthetics Institute of Canada.  In this institution, she took a number of courses including laser hair removal, photo facials, light chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.  After being hired by the school, and a working for a year, she was offered to teach the Makeup and Gel Nail programs.  In 2014 she enrolled in the Lash Artist and Airbrush Makeup Artist programs.  Her love and passion for her profession is very visible and bringing joy to her clients is her obsession.

Because of her strong desire to be self employed, she founded her own home based spa.  After 2 years of operating her aesthetic business at full capacity, she longed to expand her efforts.

After the purchase went through, she had only one month to get her business in order and because of her undying determination, she filled the home with all the necessary equipment, furniture and necessities.

I have spent time with Ana, in various capacities, and I have never seen such a hard working woman.  Along with this she is kind and passionate and so wonderful to spend time with.  She is always adding interesting  additions to offer the public, along with her spa services.  This makes Solorzano Spa Cafe and Wine Bar the best place to feed your soul.
